Esta ciudad fue fundada en diciembre de 1931 por Carlos Gesell. El logró lo que parecía imposible: fijar las  dunas que predominaban en esas playas con una plantación de pinos.

 

En 1943 ya hay un camino de acceso desde la ruta a Gesell y ese año se levanta el primer hotel, el Playa Hotel. Las primeras casas se hicieron con un estilo centroeuropeo, que aun hoy se conserva.

 

El Barrio Norte de la ciudad (donde se encuentra el alojamiento que ofrecemos) es el más antiguo: sus calles paralelas al mar se llaman Alamedas, las perpendiculares al mar se llaman Calles. Es una zona residencial con añosa arboleda.

 

Hoy Villa Gesell es una ciudad llena de vida, con opciones para todos los gustos. La Avenida 3 es un punto obligado para el paseo y las compras, además de la Feria de Artesanos que cuenta con más de 100 puestos. Actividades al aire libre como canchas de golf, cabalgatas, paseos por el bosque. 

 

En la playa pueden practicarse deportes como la motonáutica, jet esquí, esquí acuático, surf, windsurf, voley, tejo, paleta, salir a correr y otras actividades. La vida nocturna es igual de interesante con los numerosos restaurantes, confiterías, pubs, discotecas, espectáculos artísticos, además de las salas de teatro, bingo.

 

 

VILLA GESELL

Villa Gesell is one of the most important seaside towns at Buenos Aires Province. It has wide beaches over the Atlantic Ocean; average temperature during summertime (January and February) is 30º. Transfer by car or bus, 4 hours from B.A. ‘s centre.

 

This city was founded by Carlos Gesell in December 1931. He succeeded in trying to fix the dunes by growing hundred of pines.

 

At 1943 there was a road from the route to Gesell and this year the first hotel was built, it was called “Beach Hotel”. First houses were made with a Centraleuropean style, and they still remains.

 

The north neighborhood of the city (where we have accommodation for tourism) is the oldest. It is a residential area with aged woods. The streets parallel to the sea are called “Alamedas” and the ones perpendicular to the sea are called “Calles”.

 

Today Villa Gesell is a vibrant city, with options for all tastes. Avenue 3 is a must for walking and shopping, in addition to the Craft Fair with over 100 stalls. Outdoor activities like golf courses, horseback riding, and forest walks. On the beach you can practice sports like boating, jet skiing, water skiing, surfing, windsurfing, volleyball, shuffleboard, paddle, jogging and other activities. Nightlife is interesting too because the city has  restaurants, cafes, pubs, clubs, performing arts, in addition to the theaters, bingo.
